A message from Dr. Kevin Parish
Being a trusted provider of chiropractic services for over 27 years in South Edmonton has been both rewarding and humbling for many reasons. It is rewarding when I get to see or hear that you’ve been able to go back to work, lift your kids, play sports and live your life without pain. I’ve been humbled by the complexities of your pain and being able to work with you to find the right treatment for you. Prioritizing your needs and goals has always been one of my guiding principles.
One thing you should know about me is that as your chiropractor and as your partner in health, I am committed to the following principles.

Person-Centred: I don’t treat conditions, x-rays or tissues, I treat you. Let’s consider it as a partnership in your health. Your treatment will be crafted around your condition, preferences and needs. Your story, questions and concerns matter in your treatment plan and goal setting.

Education: My goal is that when you leave the office you will be more informed about your pain, the cause and the options to treat it. You will be given advice on how to reduce pain with certain movements and postures. I will reassure you that some pain with movement doesn’t necessarily mean you are making it worse. Having knowledge about your condition will reduce fear, give you hope and allow you to manage through your day.

Exercise: As an individual, not all injuries and pain syndromes react the same way for everyone. Therefore, I use clinical experience and exercise science to prescribe you an individualized exercise program. I believe that self management through exercise will empower you to take control over your pain and return you to your active life.

Evidence-Informed: To the best of my ability I use the best evidence of the day, take into account your preferences and rely on 29 years of clinical experience to provide the most appropriate approach possible for your care. This may include working with or referring you to other health care providers if it is in your best interest.

I will always consider it to be an honour and a privilege to be part of your health care team.

Sincerely,

About
Kevin Parish
At home
Outside of the office, Kevin is a dedicated family man (married for 31 years with one son and two daughters) who enjoys exercising, reading and fishing at the cabin where he spent his summers as a kid.

His exercises of choice are a balance of cardiovascular activities, such as hiking, running and biking, and resistance training (mostly comprised of bodyweight, dumbbell and kettlebell activities). He dedicated his earlier years to training and completing marathons and half marathons on his own and now, finds passion and fun in training for moderate distance events with his daughter, Mackenzie.
At the office
When you first meet him, he will be open and honest about whether he can help you or not. He will discuss treatment options, what you should expect, how long it might take and respect your opinions without judgement. He will be reassuring and provide hope when needed but also refer you to another health professional when its in your best interest.
