Orthotics

Sometimes a contributing factor to foot, ankle, leg or back pain may involve your foot function. Customized orthotics, designed specifically for you, encourage proper mechanics and reduce the forces on injured tissues. This will allow you to walk, run and move freely reducing pain and dysfunction.

Dr. Parish has been using Footmaxx™ computerized gait analysis and orthotics for over 20 years. How does he determine if orthotics will be effective in reducing your pain?

  1. Clinical history and biomechanical exam are performed.

  2. Metscan™ system is used to measure forces and timing to create a detailed gait analysis (walking and balance).

  3. A bio foam mold is taken for a 3D impression of your foot for accuracy.

Not Everyone Needs Orthotics

However, if you suffer from chronic back, hip, knee or foot pain, orthotics can reduce forces on injured and overloaded tissues helping to reduce pain. Corrective and strengthening exercises are always given in conjunction with orthotic therapy to build up foot control and strength.
